What is the purpose of the new fix "Scale pages to defined size (if aspect ratio matches)?"

I was excited to see a new fix that allows pages to be resized to a specific size, provided the aspect ratio matches. A classic use case would be scaling a page from DIN A5 to DIN A4 format. The aspect ratio matches, so this can be done automatically in the workflow.

What I don’t understand, however, is why I have to specify both the target format and the percentage value. Surely one of the two specifications should be enough? How do you use the fix?

That Fixup is intended to be used in the Process Plan “Prepare PDF for specified page size“ and then the variables are automatically set. Here is a single Fixup that only requires to specify the target dimensions. It will always create a result file, but if aspect ratio of original and result are not the same the result will just be a copy of the original. It will not work properly if the page dimensions of the original file are not the same for all pages.

It would be possible to adjust all of the limitations described above in a Process Plan. Would that be useful?

Ah, the action makes sense in the process plan, of course. I had viewed it as a single correction, where it is naturally not very helpful. Thank you for the explanation!
