Greetings everyone,
Problem:
Spot-Color Plate is “knocked out”
PDF-Origin:
- Serif Affinity Publisher 2 2.6.3
Toolbox-Version:
- v.16.1.662
Task:
Prepare files for HP-Indigo-7900 SilverInk-Mode
Requirements:
-
PANTONE 877:
- map to SpotSilver
- set SpotSilver to knockout
-
PANTONE 871:
- map to SpotSilver
- set SpotSilver to knockout
- duplicate SpotSilver, set to overprint, convert to 4C (C0% / M11% / Y 41% / K 48%), overlay on top of SpotSilver
In a dedicated Switch-Flow, these are the steps for PANTONE 871:
- extract all Spots from DeviceN
- duplicate file
- Org-file:
- map to SpotSilver
- set to knockout
- Duplicated file:
- use Slice-Action to separate Spots from process-colors
- file containing process-colors to bin
- map sliced spots to (C0% / M11% / Y 41% / K 48%)
- convert to 4C
- Overlay sliced objects onto Org-File (toolBox-Action: Overlay)
ToolBox-Results (v.16.1.662):
If I follow the required steps in Adobe Illustrator, everything looks fine:
What am I missing?

Thanks and best regards
Paul
