Ist there any way to keep my workspace when upgrading pdfToolbox? It will import my Libraries but I always have to configure the Workspace from scratch.

you can copy your workspace.xml from the previous version to the current version:

Hi Florian, thanks for the reply. Unfortunately the last appearance of the Workspace.xml on my computer was in Version 14. All newer versions do not have the file in the preferences folder.
With the comment from Florian I could find out that the workspace settings are kept in the file One-Trick-Pony.xml. But this file is not empty on a fresh install and the IDs are different. So copying this file from the old version to the new one will probably bring other trouble. Will check this out.

some insights - but as always be careful by manipulating the preferences - and close the application beforehand. 
Workspace.xml
Here only single actions from the Switchboard are stored - like Booklet from Impose or any other Switchboard action that are marked as “Include this action in the Workspace”
For Profiles, Checks or Fixups the situation is a bit more complicated and there is no guarantee! In the One-Trick-Pony.xml only the setting with the name ‘BOAGUI_WorkspaceShowInWorkspace_long’ need to be present (can be restored from older versions) but the actually objects are different and per Library and stored here: Repositories/Default/Settings/*.xml or Repositories/Custom/TIMESTAMP/Settings/*.xml
So the Repositories folder may be imported if agreed on the first start of the software (per major version) and only if the internal IDs are unchanged they will be present in the Workspace as well. During import previous libraries, there is no guarantee that IDs are not changed but for custom objects (Profiles, Checks, Fixups) it may work.
In short:
If Workspace.xml and One-Trick-Pony.xml (at least BOAGUI_WorkspaceShowInWorkspace_long) is restored and everything looks expected, everything should be fine. But again no guarantee and save your preferences before manipulation.

thanks for make the things more clear. You are right, when I attach a Switchboard Button to the Workspace, the Workspace.xml will be generated. So far I only have had custom profiles in my Workspace and these are stored in the One-Trick-Pony.xml. But there are some settings, too: ShowCropBox, ShowArtBox etc.
Yes, for now try with simply restore One-Trick-Pony.xml completely. Theoretically it should be fine and other user settings will be restored as well. But just keep an eye on it. If internal IDs are changed, the objects should simply not visible anymore but I do not expect any error messages (but no promise :D) .
