In the properties for lines I would like to have the possibility to set a color to the gap in a dotted line. We have the Dash line patterns but it would be nice to have a color here too.
I’m working on a case now where I create a dotted line over an image and it would look better if the gap could be white.

I’m not sure if that’s possible, as the PDF specification has only two colour values: one for vector outlines and one for vector fills.
I also tried setting a colour for the gaps in Illustrator, but that wasn’t possible.
Could you perhaps send us a sample PDF so that we can see what you would expect for?
Visually, you could create two outlines and make them overlap, filling the gaps in one outline with the colour of the other one.

Yes I have been thinking about doing it with two lines, just thought it would be easier with one line.
